A middle-aged woman with short, light purple hair and glasses sitting at a wooden table, working on a silver MacBook laptop with a coffee mug beside her, in a room with green shelves and a window.

For twenty years I built a career that looked right from the outside - every branch role at the bank, then financial planning, then branch leadership and finally seven years leading a commission-based planning team. I also built a version of myself that looked right: the one who was louder in meetings, more extroverted on calls, more certain than I actually felt.

The gap between how my life looked and how it felt wasn't going to close by succeeding harder. It closed when I stopped performing a version of leadership built for someone else - and started leading from who I actually am.

That's the work I do now. And it's the work I do with high-achieving professionals who are ready to do the same.

Hi, I’m Tess White. I’m The Quiet Leader’s Coach.

My Path

I started in the back office and moved through nearly every branch role before stepping into financial planning. The last decade of that career was spent in leadership; branch then leading commission-based planning teams through high-pressure environments. Growing results, navigating complexity, and carrying the weight of other people's livelihoods alongside my own.

I knew how to perform. I knew how to lead. I knew how to hold a high standard for myself and the people around me.

What I didn't know, for a long time, was how to do any of it as myself.

Over time I started to see the cost - not just in the people I led, but in me. The pressure. The pace. The way success could quietly become unsustainable. I took the hard look and went to work on the inside of my life with the same discipline I'd been giving the outside.

That's what led me here. Not away from performance — toward a version of it I could actually live inside.

That path now runs in two directions. The Aligned Leader for high-achieving professionals navigating identity, voice, and alignment. The Top Producer's Edge for commission-based financial professionals ready to build a career that lasts; built on twenty years inside the industry they're still working in.

Private coaching is also available for clients who want an ongoing relationship without a structured program. For those who know what they need from a coaching relationship and want a thinking partner, not a curriculum.

My Approach

I work at three layers at once: identity, body, and leadership. Most coaching stays on the surface because the surface is where results are easiest to measure. The real work is underneath - in the voice you've been listening to, the body you've been ignoring, and the leader you've been performing instead of being.

I don't believe in pushing harder for the sake of it. I don't believe in surface-level solutions to identity-level problems. I believe the next level is found, not forced - and that the work is quieter, deeper, and more honest than most high performers have ever been asked to do.

Life Outside Work

I recently moved from Alberta to the West Coast and now call Vancouver home. I came here to be closer to family - and for the first time in a long time, I chose a life that feels simpler, not busier. Most days you'll find me out walking, noticing things I used to rush past, reminding myself to slow down enough to actually notice the life I've built.

My youngest daughter lives nearby, building her career in law and stepping into a big next chapter of her own. My oldest is a creative soul in Montreal, doing life their own way. My mom is just over on the island, which means we actually see each other now. At home, it's me and Archie, my very spirited Maltese mix puppy, who keeps things equal parts fun and chaotic.

Outside of work, you'll find me at yoga, in a Pilates class, trying a new dance class, walking, or collecting small moments that make everyday life feel really good. Kayaking is next. Archie may or may not make the cut.

This chapter is quieter. And it's exactly where I want to be.
